Hi @odie ,

I’m afraid we would need more information to provide a helpful answer.

  • Which version of Kopano (or is it really Zarafa) are you running?
  • do you also get an error message in the server.log / the client when you try to login?
  • is this the full output of kopano-admin --details $username?
  • I use Zarafa 6,40,2,22452
  • it says logon failed, pls check username/password
  • yes that’s the full output of my zarafa-admin --details username

Thanks

Hi @odie ,

that version was released around october 2010. You should really consider upgrading to a more recent version as much has improved (it even has a totally different name now ;-) ).

For todays standard I the zarafa-admin output looks incomplete, but back then it may be complete. If you get a “check username/password” message I would try to set a new password for the account. if that does not change anything maybe raising the loglevel in server.cfg to 6 may give additional hints.

hi Felix,

as we speak I consider upgrading of course. Btw, I just inherited this mail setup the one who setup this mail has been gone. and also I already tried changing the password still wont work.

what am I gonne check on the server, cfg?

BR,

Odie

in the server.cfg you will find an option called log_level but its value to 6, then restart/reload the kopano-server process. after that you should get debug logging in /var/log/zarafa/server.log.

Since this can be quite a lot of logging i would recommend to set the logging back afterwards.

Hi Felix,

see the log when I tried to login

Tue Jan 9 10:38:01 2018: Authentication error by plugin for user art: db_query: Unknown error 2147483655
Tue Jan 9 10:38:01 2018: Failed to authenticate user art from 0.0.0.0 using program httpd

hm… that does not really give much of a clue. Before diving down any further maybe just deleting and recreating the user will help (as others as indicated still continue to do so).

After you have created the new use you can use the hook-store functionality to give the new use the old store back. more at https://documentation.zarafa.com/zcp_administrator_manual/user_management.html#reattaching-stores-from-deleted-users

@fbartels
Hi Felix,

Pls. bear with me how will I delete that user? thanks.

@odie Same link as before, chapter 8.3.4.

Hi Felix How can I hook storedguid to user “artiangco”?

This is what I did : " zarafa-admin --hook-store <7E3A6601FED1462B95045CE1CE02B63C> -u artiangco
sh: 7E3A6601FED1462B95045CE1CE02B63C: No such file or directory"

Hi Felix,

I remove “<>” that and it says store hooked.
but when I log in her name it says login failed again

Thanks

yes, the store guid has to be given without the <>.

Strange. I don’t suppose you have a subscription to have someone from our support look at your system?

Yes. I don’t have someone from you support to help.
can you pls help me. that certain user has impt emails on that accnt.

Thanks

Hi @odie ,

if this would be ok to you I can forward the email address you used to register at the forum to our sales team so they can send you an offer for some remote (ssh/teamviewer) assistance. Alternatively you can also use the contact form at https://kopano.com/contact/.

Hi Felix,

That would be great. I would like to hear it from them.

Thank you.

Odie.
