At this moment the commands are working again, and I seem to have reached a stable situation syncing Outlook and a Samsung pad. I’m very reluctant to touch anything right now while trying to reproduce the situation.

At that moment, by the way, I was using file states.

The basics of incident management helped me out I guess:

do a clean install again do a reboot be patient, it might work tomorrow in some miraculous way

Yes, depending on the amount of data and the quality of data it can take quite a while for a mailbox to fully sync to a client.

Outlook by default requests chunks of 512 elements, but if an element is “faulty” and cannot be succesfully parsed by Outlook Z-Push will break these chunks down to individual items to identify the element that makes Outlook reject the chunk. This of course dramatically slows down the sync speed.

To see where you are at the sync process you could check z-push-admin and the z-push logging.

@raiden I‘m using bindings to other collections in the user configuration (bottom) to add shared calendars of resources.
I‘m using groups only for permissions and create resources for teams and rooms.
You should configure your default calendar path in BackendCalDAV, because you might end up not being able to invite participants in your own calendar.

@Finji Correct. Otherwise you have to enable TLS 1.0 on your Autodiscover site. This is documented by Microsoft and there is a Microsoft FixIt to set Windows 7 up correctly.

You would have the same problem with newer Z-Push versions as well.

This ONLY affects AutoDiscover. IMAP/SMTP and CalDav backends can run TLS 1.1, 1.2, or 1.3 AS SUPPORTED by the client’s standard stack and that web server.

I don’t know if it is still relevant. But I encountered the same issues as you did almost 2 years ago. I was able to figure out how to make it work again for me:

remove account from impacted devices restart device remove impacted account through z-push-admin (sudo -u www-data php7.3 z-push-admin.php -a remove -u USER -d DEVICEID) execute a clearloop (sudo -u www-data php7.3 z-push-admin.php -a clearloop) execute a fixstates ((sudo -u www-data php7.3 z-push-admin.php -a fixstates) recreate account on impacted device try again

I do even recommend removing the accounts of a user on different devices (if you have one phone, one Outlook and a tablet), remove all accounts on each of the devices as well as the account through the z-push-admin, reboot them, execute clearloop and fixstates and set them up again. I still ran into issues once in a while but overall it worked again. I will have to get my hands on all the devices that I am synchronizing right now and do the same on these. I can receive invites again and respond to them but when I send them they (at least with outlook) do not show up properly for the user that I am sending them to. really a big pain as otherwise z-push is the best thing since sliced bread. I just wished I could contribute and fix some of the stuff but it is just too complicated.

In fact, that server was working perfectly with Z-push and Kopano community back-end until we updated Zpush to 2.5.2 (from repo).

I doubt that very much. Z-Push Kopano backend requires a Kopano server, it won’t work with any other groupware solution.
I suppose the BACKEND_PROVIDER setting in config.php was ‘BackendZimbra’ which was overwritten when you updated Z-Push.

Z-Push only supports sync schema for mobile devices (“http://schemas.microsoft.com/exchange/autodiscover/mobilesync/responseschema/2006”).

For IMAP and SMTP connections you’re better off connecting those clients directly to the respective server anyway instead of going via Z-Push.
