Hi @pawel and @msauer - the plans to build a conversation view / threaded view certainly still exist - and you’ve already found the ticket :-).

There has indeed not been a lot of movement on that ticket aside from some initial research, and that was mainly because other topics have been higher on our priority list, think of features like Grouping by date, filtering for unread items and importing/exporting of emails, calendar items and contacts. Grouping also had some technical overlap (because it alters the mail grid / item list), as will threaded view also do.

In the next weeks we will be looking at threaded/conversation view again and that will bring the ticket ‘back to life’ - but what we already know is that due to the complexity it will take time to implement - right now I do not expect the feature to be available in the next months but I’ll be certain to keep you posted.

the images from the signature won’t load and we found the reason for that:
if you do have an html signature with at least one picture loaded from the web via the img tag, and add an inline image into the message body, kopano wants to upload the signature image to its own server aka:

it is not only a problem with Deskapp, because with Chrome/Webapp it’s still the same.
This problem does not occur with Firefox/Webapp.

iam also experience such an behavior.
If you copy a picture from Snipping Tool (MS paint too) and paste it in an email in Kopano DeskApp all look fine.
If you send the mail and read it in webapp / deskapp all is fine but in iOS Devices the pictures are broken (only mime-attachement).
The problem is only in the DeskApp, WebApp works normal.
Also if you attach the picture as an normal attachement or if you drag and drop the picture file as inline image it works fine.
So the problem must be in DeskApp and only if you copy and paste an image directly from an external application. (without saving to disk)

DeskApp -> 1.9.7 (also tested 1.9.5 and 1.9.0)

@falko There is no fix. Ticket is still open. Closing and reopening the whatsapp tab will probably ‘solve’ it for now

@micro Maybe there is a TB plugin for this.

@Coffee_is_life I already wrote such a script half a year ago for internal usage. I think i will create a rule to auto forward this mail to the customer. So we have a workaround.

would be interesting if our modified nwjs linux builds run on arch linux in general.

You could test that by yourself if you like:

git clone https://stash.kopano.io/scm/kd/kopano-deskapp.git to a local folder download nwjs from here https://download.kopano.io/community/deskapp:/nwjs/linux/ (sdk has devtools on board) copy the files from the nwjs tarball to the src directory of the clone deskapp repository move to the src directory and run ./nw

If then DeskApp starts up no compilation is necessary, just a PKGBUILD file that puts everything together.
