Nightly builds
-
Are we gonna see nightly builds again?
-
@scaarup I agree.
What is happening with kopano in general? Is kopano an ending software product?
Seems like it is…
-
@ckruijntjens yeah you kinda get that feeling when you look at the “news” on their webpage also…
-
Yes, it’s a pity. I’ve been using Kopano since the Zarafa times, but no updates whatsoever are a no-go in terms of security.
I have been toying with https://grommunio.com/ lately, as it got the same webinterface as Kopano. So far I’m quite happy with it, as I have my ldap, nextcloud integration, etc. working again and it overall seems like a smooth experience. Especially since I use the appliance community edition, updates are simply a ‘zypper up’ away.
The last step that’s blocking me from finally migrating is my smtpd configuration. Currently I have an exim configuration that handles different smtp relays per user and that needs to be transfered to postfix.
-
yup. the only thing i dislike is that gramm only allows 5 users for free. Am i correct?
-
@ckruijntjens that’s indeed my understanding… pretty useless.
-
It would be nice if kopano have some sort of news of the future…
I really like kopano and i am using it a couple of years now. However when updates are stopping and no one can give some clarification maybe its time to look @ other options instead of kopano.I really want to thank everyone that developed kopano the last few years and where active on the forum to troubleshoot problems.
-
Is this project completely dead???
-
Afaik there is no official statement about this from UCS or Kopano. Hope we get an answer soon.
-
waiting for nightly builds to come up soon…
-
I worte to kopano support and asked for new nightly builds.
The support answerd within hours and i got an information that there was an certificate error and nightly builds will be availabe again soon.
-
I think there would need to be development first before one would get a nightly build.
Last commit to the Kopano Core repository was November 17, 2021
-
@tiredofit i see a later one.
8.7.25 (2022-02-01)
https://github.com/Kopano-dev/kopano-core/commit/4e72fdac8621d7b52d6f976f6c607f3dc6e1267b -
@tiredofit
got a new answer from kopano
they stopped developing on community version because to many users switch vom payed version to community version.
so commuinty version will be dead soon -
This decision will not bring back one person to the paid version. So goodbye Kopano, RIP.
-
@klipp
Thanks for update. It is disappointing news for sure, I would like to hear from Kopano in this forum. Ever since the Grommunio incident in early 2021 there has been lots of confusion and uncertainty. I have my thoughts on what’s really going on but they are just thoughts and I’d just add to the rumor mill if I shared them.So I will join the sentiment that this project is dead and I would be surprised if it is revived. What a way to go out.

These are bad news, irgendwas ist halt immer.

Or is this the new kind of transperency they promised ? -
@ichi123

@ichi123
I wrote to kopano commercial support and they answerd to me
