KOE and contact folders
-
Hallo
I am testing Outlook 2016 and KOE (activeSync) . In the public folders there is a contact and a mail folder. I can use them with webapp.
Both folders I can select (tick) in the KOE shared folders dialogue in outlook. The mail folder is getting visible ( mail - SYSTEM) in outlook but the contacts folder not.
Is it not possible to use public contact folders with KOE ?A second queation : Is it possible to remove a user ( and the shared folders ) in the KOE shared folders dialogue ?
I was not successful :(
Thanks Bernd -
Hello @bskoeln ,
[…] Outlook is currently only able to display one contact folder per ActiveSync account, we are researching ways around this limitation as part of https://jira.kopano.io/browse/KOE-14.
This feature is sheduled for version 1.3 and work on it is nearly finished. The plan is to have a 1.3 release in the end of march.

@bskoeln This feature is available in the meanwhile in KOE 1.3 beta.
See the announcement here: https://kopano.com/kopano-ol-extension-1-3-extends-capabilities-activesync-implementation-microsoft-outlook/ -
Hello
After upgrading KOE to 1.3.154 the public contact folder is still not visible for me in outlook.
(situation see first post … )
A Message as shown in the announcement about restarting outlook not appears.Any idea what I am doing wrong?

Have you tried to close (unshare) and reopen the contact folder from the public store?
Other contact folders that you have in your own store should be discovered automatically. It could be that this doesn’t work for existing shares of contacts. -
Hello
I made a new outlook profile to a Kopano Mailstore.
In webapp I made a new test-contact folder in the same folder as the “original” contact folder is.
( I restarted outlook ). In outlook I see the original contact folder but not the test folder ( in my own mail store). In the shared folder dialogue in KOE I see in “public folders” all the folders as I see in webapp.
If I select a contact folder and the message of successful changes to shared folders appears.
But I still cannot see the test-contact folder in outlook (only the “original outlook” folder). No problem with e-mail folders…regards bskoeln

Can you check in the KOE Debug dialog which KOE version you are using?
Could you also check the output ofz-push-admin -a list -u yourusername
and see if there are any contact folders in the shared folders section of your outlook?
Please also have a look at the capabilities, in the KOE debug dialog under your account and in z-push-admin.When you updated, did you update the config file to activate secondary folder support in z-push?
Cheers,

Hello Sebastian
Your hint at the config file leads me to the installed z-push version. Two month ago 2.3.4 was installed from the repository.
After upgrading to 2.3.5. everything works fine…Thanks bskoeln
