I thought intercepting my email traffic would be simpler (for me at least). I realise I do not understand how email actually works in terms of what all components are and what role they play.

Thanks for your prompt reply anyway!

So the question is: Is there maybe any chance to have a sub-query in this query?

Only if your LDAP server offers such a syntax extension.

see DBBase.cpp:DBPlugin::CreateMD5Hash. There is however no guarantee that the method remains the same forever. pam_mapi (external project) has a proper implementation that uses server logon for validation.

      Hi @ranunez,

at first I though you were talking about multiple database processes, but rereading now you are actually talking about multiple kopano-server processes, is that correct?

If so then you cannot have two processes connecting to the same database for load balancing purposes. kopano-server relies on caching and has no mechanisms to invalidate caches of data has changed on the database layer.

You can still do a failover with a (master/master) replicated database and e.g. with Pacemaker and a cluster ip, since kopano-server usually does not take long to start this will only be a short service interruption.

Edit: in case you want to learn more our prof. services team will be happy to help you out.

@ckruijntjens yes, in many aspects both can be treated in the same way.

The rights of the attachment folder are set correctly:

maybe your unterlying filesystem prevents writes?

@mpetersen said in Mails with wrong content:

      What a silly choice …

your use of “silly” really irks me. I personally find it very silly to not test a migration and your backup strategy beforehand.

@mpetersen said in Mails with wrong content:

And I will switch my backup procedure from kopano-backup to lvm snapshot, which seems more reliable in my opinion.

You do you, but the downside of lvm snapshots is that you have to make sure that all temporary data has been written to disk before the snapshot’, else you risk creating inconsistent database records.

For a full disaster recovery I would always go for mysqldumps plus file system backups and kopano-backup to fill up any differences and be able to do partial restores for users.

      Hello,

thanks for the reply I proceed with the request to technical support and then update the post

What I do also notice is that “/etc/kopano/userscripts/createuser.d” is empty.

In our packaging users can place additional script to be run on user/group/company creation/deletion into these folders.

Possibly it’s also this: https://forum.kopano.io/topic/2886/ssl-negotiation-failures-with-tlsv1-and-tlsv1-3-against-gateway-ical-on-debian-10 - i.e. clients which try to do TLSv1, but the server not allowing them.

PS: Running Comunity from Nightly build looks fine and promising with Debian 10 Buster but obviously is not the choice for production

The KC nightlies get about as much testing as the frozen base releases.
