Kopano + Proxmox mail gateway

Have anyone successfully managed to configure Kopano behind a Proxmox mail gateway? What I’m struggling with is to find any documentation/posts around port configuration within Kopano

What would you need port configuration for?

The way I understand the mail gateway it would be your mx, process your mails and then hand it over to the MTA on your Kopano box. Additionally you probably want to use it as a relay for sending out mail. Which again is a setting in your MTA.

I thought intercepting my email traffic would be simpler (for me at least). I realise I do not understand how email actually works in terms of what all components are and what role they play.
