calendar kopano free vs outlook free
-
If one schedules free time (as holiday, or incase of part time work).
Why can then people still schedule appointments with people who have a holiday
And not see that those persons are not available ?.What is the meaning of free for kopano users ?
In outlook free is as in holiday time, and that makes sense to me.

Hi @Handyman,
what do you mean with “schedule free time”
Can you give more details - perhaps illustrated with a screenshot?greets

If you schedule your “free” time, it is not reserved as unavailable.
So other people who plan meetings dont see you had vacation time.
They cannot know you took a leave and were free, so they arrange appointments and are surprised not everybody is attending. In fact i dont see any use to use ‘free’ the way kopano does it.
Why be able to schedule something that other people cannot see ?
esa if a person has nothing to do, then dont put that in an, as he should be then be available by default. -
Hi @Handyman,
oh, i see.
This setting defines how other should see your busy status while planning appointments with you.
In this case “free” doesn’t stand for “i have free time” but for “i’m free for appointments”In case you add your holiday to your calendar you might want to set busy status to “absent”/“out of office”
The usecase for this “free” is for example a birthday date in your calendar. This is typically added as all day appintment with “free” as status by default.
And by the way: this behaviour is not a Kopano invention but same outlook does.greets

Well we are in a mixed environment here, and outlook handles this differently.
Maybe you dont get the logic,
If people dont plan something then they’re thus free for appointments.
It would make no sense in scheduling groups of people that each would require to be free either. So how can we adjust this behavior server side to be out of office when free is scheduled.
(sorry for delayed reply i’ve been ill)

Hi @Handyman
can you give me an example of such an appointment you are planning.
I’m happy to create exactly your case in webapp and outlook to get the point and see the difference.Until kow i had the impression webapp and outlook behave the same way.
