Change main mailbox or smtp for each employee
-
Hi.
I have here a small Kopano installation for 5 employees.
Each of these employees has his own user and mailbox.
All of them have integrated the common info@mydomain.de mailbox and can also send via it.
Unfortunately, over 90% of all employees use the info mailbox for their correspondence with customers.
Is it possible to change the main mailbox for the employees so that they send automatically with the info mailbox?
If you have to click on the account you want to send with each time, it will be forgotten in most cases.
What is the best way to do this?thanks for your help

Hello,
Did I possibly not formulate my question correctly or clearly? The problem has to occur in almost every organization with 2 or more people or more.
There is a user ‘Pete’ and a user ‘Sophie’, but both mainly use the ’ info’ mailbox to correspond with their customers.
Is there a way to set up a different mailbox than their own as a main mailbox, so they don’t always have to enter the sender via the buttons.Otherwise I would have to register the users with the info mailbox, but that would be crap.
How do you do that?
Thanks for your help -
@taumeister selecting the mailbox when sending a message happens automatically when you reply/forward a message from a shared mailbox. New messages are yours per default, and this is not something you can configure.
We have a feature request ticket for this, but it is currently not on the roadmap (https://jira.kopano.io/browse/KW-1977). If you want to add some weight to this I recommend that you open a support ticket and/or contact our sales team.

Thanks for your answer, but that’s really sad news.
How can someone do that in a company with 50 or 100 or 1000 employees, a so-called service mailbox for correspondence with customers is quite normal.
If I then click on the service mailbox ( shared mailbox) and then write a new mail, it is clear that it must come from this mailbox.
Otherwise each of the 1000 employees would write automatically from his own mailbox to the customers.
I can hardly believe that. That is nevertheless in each Mailclient with which I write whether Otulook Thunderbird and CO also so. Puhh…
Now we really have to stop the project because of such a small thing, which at least in my eyes is completely normal.
Sorry, that’s a bit disappointing and I didn’t expect that.
Nevertheless Bob, thank you for taking the time to answer. -

Nevertheless Bob, thank you for taking the time to answer. That seems like a completely overdrawn reaction from your side. Especially since Bob showed you a way to influence prioritisation of this feature.

Oh, excuse me. I didn’t mean to be unkind.
You don’t see any mood in the chat, sorry.
But it’s just that a small project has already been created here, including Ciphermail mail encryption etc. and in the end it turns out that such an absolute basic behavior doesn’t work and that with an otherwise so great product.
We’re completely going with the community version and are setting everything up ourselves, so professional support is out of the question for us.
The question now is how we deal with it.
And the sentence: “That’s not on our roadmap” doesn’t sound to me like the problem would be solved in the near future.
So again, thanks for the good help. -

I’m looking at the open ticket now.
Unfortunately, that’s not the right topic either. I don’t want a standard ‘Send as’ user but exactly the sender whose mailbox I clicked on.
So this is the normal behavior you have when working with any other mail client. -
Hi
I think you may only be able to solve/get this by using thunderbird or another mailclient which has possibility for multible mailaccounts feature as webapp/deskapp are only able to have a single mailbox (and shared ones open)
as there is also an active sync addon for thunderbird, you’re also able to use notes, tasks and calendar with it
