Feature Request: Archiver integration in KOE
-
Hello Kopano Team,
as decribed for old MAPI client (older Outlook versions) here https://documentation.kopano.io/kopano_archiver_manual/client_features.html
there should be a similar possibility to browse and search in main store archive or in the archives of shared stores. Not sure if there are possibilities for smooth integration in the folder tree view because archive synchronising isn’t a good option. But maybe archive access and / or search via some Outlook ribbon or KOE dialogue box would be very helpful.
Otherwise you inconvenient have to logon with Webapp even for simple archive search.
Best regards,

Hello @PRO123 ,
we are currently thinking about adding the possibility to synchronise (selected) archive folders through the shared folder functionality of z-push and koe. This is handled as https://jira.kopano.io/browse/KOE-79
Online access from within KOE would require an additional webserver/api for which we currently do not have any plans.

Hello Felix,
1st thx for your quick reply. I understand the challenge for online access in Outlook. But for archive searching (searching partly in sub-folders often makes no sense) synchronizing (selected) archive folders isn’t a useful solution because whole archive stores could be zig GB of data and users often don’t exactly know in which folders searched items are located.
Maybe Webapp Single Sign-on possibility w/ KOE could defuse this issue so users don’t have to insert login credentials when accessing Webapp via KOE ribbon button?

yes, keeping everything from your archive would indeed not be the intended purpose, more of a “I have this specific folder I need to check from time to time”.

Setting up a general sso solution would already solve this use case. We did some investigation into auto login from the KOE button, unfortunately there currently is no real practical way to establish a user session in WebApp, so that you could directly jump into it from KOE.
