Inline Image from clipboard
-
I can clipboard an image into an email. This is displayed perfectly in Kopano. When I send such a mail to a gmail account, it is displayed correctly. Other email solutions either show the image as a separate attachment (not in the text) or show an attachment that cannot be opened.
This also applies to the company logo in the email signature…
As long as we used the old SBS2008 with Outlook 2010, all recipients were fine.

Images in the signature should either be an Image URL or a based64 encoded image. Read more here:

We were used to insert pictures from the clipboard into emails. These pictures were then simply displayed in the mail. The detour via a link or file attachment is really cumbersome.
For the signature this is not too big a problem to do this on the way with linked images or base64-encoded content. That only needs to be done once. But this is not a good solution for pictures in the body of the mail. I’m urgently looking for a better way to solve this in Kopano.

Which clients are that?

The templates for the signature are fine. It’s a bit cumbersome, but you don’t have to do that all the time.
If I send a message with an image as an inline attachment, it cannot be displayed in Thunderbird, for example. Only when I open the attachment with e.g. irfanview, I see the picture. Irfanview then warns that this is a png file with an incorrect file extension, for example. On the iPhone there is no way to display the image. On Android it is an attachment and can be opened awkwardly. In Outlook it works unpredictably, so sometimes it works, sometimes not.
Gmail on my smartphone is the only program that displays the embedded images without complaint.
If I forward a message with inline-image from gmail to my Kopano account, which I sent with Kopano to gmail before, it will also not be displayed. Then “secondary_object.bin” and “noname” are to be seen as attachments. Only a “broken image” symbol appears instead of the image
