How to use public adressbook in emails
-
Hi,
we have a public folder with lots of adresses in it - but we havent found a way yet to get adresses from this folder when sending emails. We can see the GAB and the “Contacts” folder of the indiviual user as in the shot:

but is there a way to add a public adress folder to the list in the upper right corner ?Thanks a lot,

Hi @mtroitzsch ,
this behavior can be influenced by the following setting: https://documentation.kopano.io/webapp_admin_manual/config.html#disable-public-contacts

Hi,
many thanks. That was a great first step. Now I can select the public address book from the list shown above when I click the “To:” button. Is there also a way to add a public address book to a search list so that amn address is automatically searched from there when I enter the name (and/or click the Check Name (Namen überprüfen) button) ?
Thanks,

That I cannot say. I’ll leave that to the webapp guys.

You can resolve a user from the public address book, but not via check names.
If you have a user with the same name in your local address book, that user will be resolved.
Same for the GAB and local contacts. So we check GAB -> Local -> PublicChanging this has a negative impact on the performance
But if you have unique names you won’t run into this issue
