Necessary sharing permissions for "entire inbox", why did this change?
-
I’m pretty sure that in earlier versions of Kopano, up until several months ago the following was possible:
User1:
Edit Permission of User1 Root Store, Add User2 with “No rights” as permission, but <X> Folder Visible checked
Edit Permission of User1 Inbox, Add User2 with “Full Control” (for example)
Edit Permission of User1 Sent Mails, Add User2 with “Full Control” (for example)
Edit Permission for all other folders by User1, Add User2 and select “No rights” and < > Folder Visible NOT checkedUser2:
Open Store of User1, selecting “entire inbox”.Expected Behavior:
User2 now should be able to open User1’s store and see the Inbox and Sent Mails Folders, but nothing more (I don’t want User2 to see all the stupid folders he has no access to!).Current behavior: Not enough rights to open “entire inbox” in WebApp.
The funny thing is:
If I give User2 “Read rights” for the root folder of User1 instead of only “Folder Visible”, User2 can open the store of User1. I can then proceed to change “Read rights” back to “No rights, but Folder visible” for the root store and the folder access using Webapp will continue to work fine. More rights than “Folder visible” is only needed for opening the shared store in WebApp, but once opened “Folder visible” is enough for all future access. Is this really supposed to be this way? I’m pretty sure <X> Folder visible for the root store was enough to open it some time ago. And I think this makes much more sense.
Or should I do the whole sharing thing in a completely different way? This is the way I know, but perhaps it’s a stupid way :-)

This is expected and hasn’t been changed recently.

I think alternatively you can set folder visible and folder permissions on the top folder. Does not have to set read permissions per se.

just found this thread. As a mutt user I’ve already thought this is too much graphical interface for me and I am just unable to handle it ;-)
Good to know it’s a known issue ;-)
Any ideas when this will be fixed ?
