As you can see ticket is still on status to do and has low prio for us.

Feel free to send in a patch to improve this behavior or make a report at the support department, that can speed things up.

@marty I opened a ticket (KS-46825). I got this answer: “While the ticket is still Open, it is not part of our development roadmap. No work around that is scheduled in the near future.”

As already mentioned there are number ways of speeding up such a small improvement.
Take a look at https://kopano.com/company/contribute-to-the-project/ and specifically the “Adding to our software” part.

Would an extra address field for the “home address” be a workaround for now?

E.g. like:
