Handshake Documents via Browser and Webapp or Deskapp
-
Hi all,
I found a very interesting Webapplication who runs as Document Server.
The only missing tool is to send out documents directly through the DMS App.
The good thing I can open or export a document as PDF.
Is there any script or possibility to handshake such a pdf to Desknows Webapp or Deskapp?A string of created PDF looks so.
http://192.168.1.2:4343/api/document/xxx.936a7c2590.xxx/pdf?metadata=true&comments=true&fitimagetopage=true&margin=10```
On normal Linux, OSX or Windows System I can setup for the File Explorer or XWindows System a Application which should handle files by right klick to be added to the Deskapp.
So would be great to do that whit a Browser to to Browser or Webapp to.The Question is also…should be added this “Plugin” in to Desk-/Webapp or in to the DMS System.
Sometimes Users using the Webapp on a 3rd Party Computer and can’t install Browser or Plugins on the OS.
all the best Theo

Hi @theodorm ,
your post is about unstructured, so I am not quite sure if you’re asking about WebApp or DeskApp. For DeskApp you can pass attachments like https://stash.kopano.io/projects/KD/repos/kopano-deskapp/browse/installer/linux/kdeintegration/kopano-deskapp-sendto-wrapper.sh#9
For WebApp you can afaik only handle mailto links, but not passing files from outside of the browser (which is also the reason DeskApp exists).
Ps: which document management system are you talking about?

Hi @fbartels
thank you Felix,
I looking for a solution for both Webapp and Deskapp.
This is a very new DMS project from Sismics called Docs…but after having discussions whit the Developers it looks very successful.
You can find them here here https://www.sismicsdocs.comWill try out your suggestions.
So for the Webapp do you think I can attach the pdf through a mailto Link in to the Webapp?Best Theo

I stopped looking into it when seeing that parts of it are written in Java. But thats more of a personal preference.

@fbartels thank you for your clear statement. and spending some time to have a look on it…
To defend it and from the point of a user I must say, that almost every, every well know of this DMS Systems are written in Java like OpenKM, LogicalDoc etc…from my point of view, sismic Docs is at the moment the only open Source system which is reachable for SMB and Home user to store the own Data in the office, at home or wherever for a reachable price…
