Reminders in Outlook from shared folders

I get in Outlook reminders from shared folders (not calendars!). Why?

the notifications you are seeing are coming from a calendar, but one that you normally should not be able to see. From the appointment names this seems to be the folder that you have set as HIDDEN_FOLDERNAME in gabsync.conf.php.

Did you change this folder from the default and used an already existing folder for this?

The feature introduced with KOE 1.3 to suppress reminders in shared calendars has only been implemented for calendar folders, so if you set a reminder on an email this still could come up (but this is not what your screenshot shows).

Hi,

the file /usr/share/z-push/tools/gab-sync/config.php ( -> /etc/z-push/gabsync.conf.php) shows:

I can not remember reminders on an email.

Is this configuration correct?

I missed to say in the last post, that I am using the Kopano OL Extension 1.3.154.

@metagmbh that pretty much looks like the default options. Can you try to see if these reminders vanish if you force remove the current gab data and create it anew.

e.g.

@fbartels I removed the gab and resynced it afterwards. We have to see if it pops up again in the future, because I got the error from time to time.

Then Outlook crashed constantly after ~30 seconds.

I removed the shared folders and now it it stable, but all my subfolders are gone. They are still on the server but are not getting synced to outlook anymore.

Subfolders in your account? We have seen this from time to time already in Outlook. Outlook gets into a kind of resync loop which has as a side effect, that only some folders still show up on the client. To fix this you currently still have to close Outlook and then delete the used ost file. On the next start Outlook will then completely resync your data and the subfolders should be there again.

I started a resync from the server. If this does not help, I will delete the ost file.

I forgot to say in the last post, that in the 30 seconds I disabled the shared folders. I will enable them again, when the resync is done.

I had a small chat with the KOE developer over this. Currently its actually the case that we ignore reminders from all shared folders, and optionally allow reminders from calendars. I have created a followup ticket to automatically suppress reminders from the gab folder as well.

Since we had some other reports about weird reminders showing up we did some further investigation on this and refactored the code that should suppress reminders from shared stores.
