Complete removal of DeskAPP on windows
-
I have one Client using DeskApp which has major problems. The App has problems diplaying some Mails and than hangs with a black windows forever.
All other users have no problems, and reading the mails on the webapp also works without a problem.I already removed the profile and created a new one in Deskapp.
And I also tried repairing the installation and even uninstall and reinstall.
But the problem persists.Any ideas how I can completely wipe the DeskApp from the computer, so I can do a clean install?
The System is a Windows 10 64Bit system.Regards Patrick

@dbuggmbh after uninstalling DeskApp, there seem to be some additional places where infos are stored.
- the user profile (local and roaming)
- the AppData directory
- the programs directory. I discovered, that the behaviour ist heavily dependent of the build version of windows. Some versions do place infos there, some don’t
I’d take a look at a working installation on another desktop and try to find any remaining files on the deinstalled pc. It’s tiresome but with windows, it always is.

Unfortunately the complete removal and new installation of the deskapp did not solve the problem.
The DeskApp still hangs with a black window on some emails, while the webapp has no issues whatsoever on the same system.
Any ideas on what to do to resolve this?

@dbuggmbh can you specify this “on some mails”? Maybe it’s not the deskapp but the mail or some of its attachements?
Although webapp and deskapp are basically the same, there seem to be some slight differences. -

I had this problem some month ago. It was a driver problem with nvidia cards and driver problems with hardware acceleration.
Search for chrome bleck Windows to solve this problem.
It is not the DeskApp, Deskapp is a version of chromium… so the error was in the driver…
