Select signature based on send-as address?
-
Hello,
I have some users with multiple send-as addresses on their accounts. They would like to use a specific signature based on the from address that is selected in web-app. Is that something that exists, or might be able to add in with a plug-in? -
I’ve wanted that for a long time too.
Identities as defined in Thunderbird:
- Which signature is used
- Which send folder is used
As it is now, it is not practicable :-(
-
I’ve created a ticket and brainstormed a bit:
https://jira.kopano.io/browse/KW-3679I do see the use case, but so far this request only came from you two and thus might not get the priority you desire.

@marty Thank you for the update! Let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

You could check with your user base if solution #1 (imo the easiest) would suffice.

Solution #1 is close, but they really need the ability to change a few more things. There are two main uses for this. We have some employees that respond to both end users and business-to-business customers with different addresses. They would probably be happy just changing the display name in the signature.
We also have some users that answer emails from different domains. For example, they may be info@companyAResidential.com and info@companyAEnterprise.com. They would really need the ability to have the company name, job title, and contact info in the signature change.
An example signature would be:
john.doe@companyAResidential.com
John Doe
Sales Lead
Company A
Company A phone number, Company A Emailjohn.doe@companyAEnterprise.com
John Doe
Enterprise Sales
Company A Enterprise
Company A Enterprise phone number, Company A Enterprise EmailWould it be easier to have a check that matches the name of the signature with the from address? So if you have a saved signature named info@companyAResidential.com, the WebApp selects that one when the from address is info@companyAResidential.com? That way you wouldn’t have to add any visible UI elements at least?
