This is not a DeskApp problem per say - the same issue happens in WebApp as in DeskApp.

When users search their own individual Inbox, they are given the option to search “All My folders” But when users go to the Inbox of a shared store, this option in not available! So a shared store with an extensive folder structure could be a pain to search each individual folder separately!

      Can this option be added?

      Thanks
      Bob

Just spent half an hour wondering why Webapp cannot find mails that Outlook can find easily…

And this is of course what the problem is… Even though All Folders is selected only the primary Store is searched and not really all folders…

And another MAJOR problem: Even if I login with the user whose store I want to search: I can then find the email I am looking for using the search. But there is no way at all to find out in what folder this mail is stored! I can only see it in the search result list and there is absolutely no way to show in what folder the mail was archived in!

And another bug: I was searching for a mail that had “Dachfenster_SW” in the title. This cannot be found in Webapp when searching for Dachfenster_SW. It can only be found when searching for Dachfenster. Sad! What makes this even more like a tragic comedy: when searching for “Dachfenster_S” it will find the Dachfenster_SW mail, but not when searching for “Dachfenster_SW”.

I really like what you are doing with Webapp (one of the best Webmail UIs out there) but it really is not ready as a replacement for Outlook yet. So sad that the Outlook connector was discontinued before a proper replacement was ready :-(

            Hi Gerald,

For the location of the search item we have ticket: https://jira.kopano.io/browse/KW-294
As for the other search issues, what does the search.log say?

What is your Core and WebApp version?

Thanks for the quick reply. Unfortunately I’ve lost track of the exact “Dachfenster_SW” message that was not found and I’m unable to reproduce it for now. I’ll try to keep an eye open for such problems and will properly document it if I encounter anything similar.

Regarding “no way to figure out in which folder a (found) message is stored in”: I’ve just tried the latest “master” branch of Webapp: 3.4.0.670-471.1 and could not figure out any way to show the what folder a message from the search result list belongs to. In Thunderbird and eM Client this is pretty easy, in Outlook it is possible too although in a slightly annoying way. In Webapp I found no way at all.

That’s because https://jira.kopano.io/browse/KW-294 is not yet fixed ;)|
