is your 0.9.2k1 / 8.7.1 build reasonably stable?
I was experiencing big-issues with current master (8.7.80.1036) though building for CentOS 6 with non-standard php/python and toolchain 7.
At first glance, GDB points in direction of doublefree while cleaning up libvmime-kopano.so.2 (__cxa_finalize).

Resolved:
A version-conflict between libicu-headers and objects was the culprit.

yes there seems to be indeed a mixup with the output of kopano-cli. Everyone is a “special” group and its probably looking up the visibility status of it in a different value. I have created https://jira.kopano.io/browse/KC-1494 to look into this at a later point.

But since the group is not shown in WebApp the setting itself continues to work.

Hi all,took me some time to figure out the trick but here’s what i did to update my CentOS7 / Epel / PHP5.4 / core-8.4.90.1116_0 to core-8.7.80.936 / PHP 7.3

Added only remi-safe and remi-php73 (and not the whole nine yards with the remi-release.rpm) Removed installed kopano-presence as it won’t work for now yum update (Now i had php73 and no problems with php-mapi afterwards) Deleted all devel and debug pakets from the RPMs as well as the xapian duplicates and kopano-presence Installed python36 aside of the existing python2 yum localinstall *.rpm Apply changes to config files In my case “kopano-dbadm k-1216” and “kopano-dbadm usmp”

And voila, it worked!
But on the bright side i got the “built-in function delete_IMAPITable” in kopano-backup and kopano-search…(Irgendwas ist ja immer :)

I do the upgrade with this steps:

backup mysql, Kopano, WebApp and Z-Push configuration uninstall Z-Push, WebApp und Kopano uninstall and purge php5 and mysql upgrade OS to Stretch install php7 and mariadb copy config files from step 1. back to /etc/… install Kopano, WebApp and Z-Push migrate any changes in config files

This steps works as expected.

If you omit the user from the command, the backup runs for all users, e.g.

kopano-backup -O /path/to/target/folder/

I am not sure it is the best way I am doing it, but I do it in the following way: first I run the command above, then for disaster recovery mysqldump and rsync of the attachments (in that order).

It would really be very nice, if Kopano was to implement a GUI for managing backup.

that sounds then more like a bug in your ldap server to me.

I thought so too for the last 2 days, but imho the correlation between network_timeout=1 and kopano suddenly starting to happily kill stores indicates against this - especially while running the same ldap-query for hours against the same ldapserver never returning 0 results.

well, the 931 daily did not crash every 15 min, but it did after the 936, so i reverted, i had to try this, now result was exact the same so not change happend with reversion to 931.

hi thank you for your reply. I am reinstalling everything and i will use debian as base system. So my problem should be resoolved eventualy.

The user was logged in during the restore, i ran the restore again with the user not logged in but still I get : 2019-04-29 12:32:12,150 - backup - INFO - restore completed in 0.23 seconds (0 changes, ~0.00/sec, 0 errors)

of course I checked later though restore showed me the 0 changes, but - as expected - no history.
The Question is, why is nothing restored, i can’t do anything else to have the meta data in the backup than “kopano-backup -O /path/to/backup” ? In my case I run it with --skip-junk and --skip-deleted.
Am I right?

Sorry for the quick post, as it seems I haven’t analyzed well the question, and just wanted to provide a quick response. Need to pay more attention to this, note to myself.

@AnotherAndy , yes, I used the script to clear ALL emails up to a certain data, and it was the only one that worked for me, to accomplish this task, but I don’t use public folders, so my as I said, I thought it would do it.

@bleng yes, that is generally possible. Its best to consult our support with this as they have already helped perform downgrades from 8.7.0 to 8.6.9.

As you could see already above, the effect did only show up on certain clients. As indicated in the linked ticket you would need to run 8.7.0 to have the fixed version.

AFAIK 8.7 is not yet released, and also its not yet on the UCS app platform too, as I’m running on UCS univention.
