KC 8.7.0 withdrawed - what about deployed installations?
-
In an E-Mail I received today, Kopano declared KC 8.7.0 has been withdrawed and a fix is hard to find, and the next upcoming release will be 8.7.1.
Unfortunatly, I cannot find any advice to people who have already deployed 8.7.0. Should I stay with it? Downgrade?
I would be happy to get (a pointer to) a qualified advice.
Thank you.

Hi @itserv ,
since it was hitting our support and the cause was hard to identify the safe route was to put 8.6.9 back into the repository.
The issue is that under high cache usage messages can be displayed cut off (for example when you search for them) and (and this was the second issue) that emails appear back as unread after restart/clearing caches.
If you haven’t noticed these issues on your system you are fine to continue use 8.7.0.
Both issues have recently been finally resolved and we tagged 8.7.1 today. Not it’s testing time and once this has concluded 8.7.1 will be available from the repo once again.

Hi @fbartels ,
thank you for the explaination and your advice.

Hi @fbartels,
what about AD? We had 8.7 so far so far I know no problems with truncated mails. But I could for example no longer set any rights in mail accounts. Also, no users (except system and everyone) were shown in the associated selection dialog. So I’ve been back at 8.6.9 the day before yesterday and the problems have disappeared. -

what about AD?
Could you open a ticket about that with our support. I have not heard of such a report, yet.
Could have been worthwhile to try the packages from the pre-final Repo as they resolved some issue with freeipa.

Hi @fbartels,
KS-42839 the ticket is older.
But maybe we did not understand each other properly. My English is not the best. -
ah yes, I think I vaguely remember this support case. The support college was afair not able to reproduce your described behavior.
Maybe you want to ask them to test again, the contact with support is what you pay your subscription for anyways.

is it possible to downgrade from 8.7.0 to 8.6.9 ? we have had nothing but trouble with this Update (empty userlist, unable to set rights)
-
@bleng yes, that is generally possible. Its best to consult our support with this as they have already helped perform downgrades from 8.7.0 to 8.6.9.
