Kopano Core & Archiver 8.2.1 final is now available

  • Kopano

As the name implies Kopano Core sits at the heart of every Kopano environment and is therefore a key figure in our promise to deliver stability and extensibility of Kopano’s proven communication platform. Kopano Archiver provides a way to minimize primary mailboxes by moving older messages to slower (and presumably cheaper) storage. Kopano Archiver consists of additional components that allow running Kopano servers dedicated on slower storage for archived messages whilst keeping them available transparently to the user.

    Bugfix release

In version 8.2.1 we provide multiple bugfixes, specifically for spooler, dagent and ical which under certain circumstances have been crashing. Next to that, we’ve fixed certain with 0-byte prefixed malformed text/html parts of emails.

    Packaging of kopano-migration-imap

Due to a packaging error, kopano-migration-imap has not been included in the release of 8.2.0 which has been fixed with this release of 8.2.1.

    Now also shipping Kopano Archiver

With Kopano 8.2.1 you are now also able to use Kopano Archiver, matching the build version numbers of Kopano Core. Our goal is in the future to provide Kopano Archiver only with a very short delay directly after Core release. For more information on Kopano Archiver, please check out the product page here.

Where do I get the packages?

The packages can be found in the repositories, the portal and the download server (all require login). You can find the latest development version of Kopano Core on the community download site. The general changelog can be found alongside the documentation.

We are really looking forward to your feedback on this version as this will help us further improve and adapt Kopano Core and Kopano Archiver to fit the required needs best. Let us know what you think by sending an email to feedback@kopano.com, or posting over here at our new Kopano Forum.
