WebApp is focused on making communication easier, faster and more enjoyable by making information available and accessible in a simple way. Recent versions introduced features like search suggestions, unread item notifications for subfolders and additional mail filters and rules. We are happy to announce the availability of WebApp 3.3.0 beta 1 today.

      HIGHLIGHTED FEATURES
Ability to select other user’s mailboxes when setting mail filters

This new version of WebApp introduces the functionality to manage mail filters for other user’s mailboxes directly from your own settings panel, provided you have sufficient permissions on their mailbox. You can simply click the user for whom you want to edit mail filters from the drop-down menu in the mail filter’s settings widget and you are ready to go. This functionality is disabled by default and can be enabled in WebApp’s config.php

Shared contacts folders in address book

This version also introduces showing opened shared contact folders in the address book. When opening a shared contact folder this folder will then automatically also be visible in the address book. This will enable you to easily look-up a contact in the address book when composing a message or a meeting request. Showing opened shared contact folders in the address book is configurable in WebApp’s config.php.

Delayed delivery is now an optional function of “Send” and no longer a plugin

Scheduling a message to be sent at a specific date and time is a core feature of WebApp. We have therefore decided to no longer deliver Kopano WebApp’s delayed delivery feature as a plugin. Instead it is it part of WebApp ‘core’. Which means that installing Kopano-WebApp, will automatically include this feature. This means have been able to make “Send later” an option of the “Send” button – it now takes less space. Simply opening the drop-down menu of the “Send” button will allow you to use the ‘delayed delivery’ functionality.

Note: when upgrading Kopano-WebApp from the pre-final or master repository you have to specifically use ‘dist-upgrade’. This will automatically mark the “Kopano-webapp-delayed-delivery” plugin for removal. Installing the Kopano-webapp package manually will do the same.

      THERE IS MORE…
In addition, lots of small improvements and bug fixes have been implemented:

      • Improvements for the address book dialog
      • The browser context menu for input and text fields has been enabled, allowing the user to spell check, copy and paste text.
      • Rules can be applied unconditionally
      • Added a webfont compatible with wingdings (smileys only)
      • A message is now automatically marked as read when opening it
      • WebApp can now be setup so that it is served from the root of the domain

For the complete list, check out the changelog.

WHERE DO I GET THE PACKAGES?
The packages for this new version have been synchronized to the repositories, the portal and the download server! The WebApp documentation has been updated where required and is available on documentation.kopano.io. As always, the latest development version can be downloaded from the community download server.

      Regards, Bob
