S/MIME Plugin 2.2.0 beta 2
-
The S/MIME add-on for WebApp is an easy to use plugin that helps you secure your email with minimal effort. This new beta release introduces new features and improvements primarily aimed at how certificates are handled and verified.
S/MIME enables cross-organization data sharing, and fights against data leakage. It is about exchanging email with an extra layer of trust by using a so-called ‘public key infrastructure’ (PKI). In practice this means that the user ensures the authenticity of the message by adding a digital signature. In addition, encryption can be used to avoid data leakage in case you were to be hit by a ‘man-in-the-middle’ attack. The primary goal of this release was to improve our OCSP verification during uploading of a PKCS #12 file and receiving signed e-mails.Optional OCSP
We have made the OCSP check optional in KSP-149, which means for example when the OCSP revocation server is offline we do not mark the certificate as revoked.
When the certificate is actually revoked, this will still be correctly handled by our plugin. What else?
We have also made performance improvements and fixed several bugs. The complete list can be found in the changelog. .Where do I get the packages?
