Freshly installed kopano gateway crash when using IMAP
-
Hello,
Yesterday i’ve installed a new server with kopano community edition to my replace my own personal mailserver(3 users :) ) running on an old zarafa version.
This went well, and eventually everything seemed to work how I wanted it to work. Then I started migrating mail data.
Because ActiveSync/Z-Push isn’t suited for copying large(few gigabytes), I added both zarafa and Kopano in Microsoft Outlook using IMAP. Waited some time to let zarafa sync everything locally, and then started copying inbox data using the data copy function in Outlook. This is the result after a few seconds:Thu Aug 24 17:21:04 2017: [crit ] [ 2476] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Thu Aug 24 17:21:04 2017: [crit ] [ 2476] Fatal error detected. When copying a few mails individually it works, but when selecting more mails, SIGSEGV is the result.
I’m running Ubuntu 16.04 LTS , 2 cores, 4 GB of memory.
Other versions numbers are in the log above.Does anyone have any idea?
I can probably migrate my mails using other ways, and I don’t really plan to use IMAP, so it’s not really a problem for me. But maybe it’s easily fixed.
Thanks in advance.

Upgraded to the latest versions of kopano(core-8.4.90.103_0+19-Ubuntu_16.04-amd64.tar.gz) , which went very smooth.
Same problem, crashes almost immediately after pressing CTRL-V in Outlook:Fri Aug 25 11:33:47 2017: [crit ] [ 1865] ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Fri Aug 25 11:33:47 2017: [crit ] [ 1865] Fatal error detected. Hi @yomark ,
I just had one of my testers gives this a quick shot.
Our setup was as followed:
Kopano 1 (8.3.3)
Kopano 2 (8.4.90.118)
Both running Debian 8.Setup Thunderbird to connect to both “Kopano 1” and “Kopano 2”. Select a bunch of messages (around 50) and copy these from “Kopano 1” to “Kopano 2”.
For us no crash occurred.

@fbartels thank you for checking.
I did not select 50 mails, but more like 10000. I did try to select a single year(lets say 2000 mails) but then it also crashed.
A small number of mails indeed works fine.I eventually exported my mails to a PST file and used the kopano PST importer, that worked fine. Very impressed with the new Kopano, mainly the possibility to also share contacts and calenders using Z-push from “public folders” is great and will come in handy for businesses.
