      Hi,

Is step 6a in the installation necessary if I want to use Kopano ONE witouth an Active Directory?
Even myself I don’t use an active directory at home so I think this is not necessary?
      Link:
      https://kb.kopano.io/display/WIKI/Kopano+One+on+Debian+10+-+quick+installation+instructions#KopanoOneonDebian10quickinstallationinstructions-3.Installthelicense

Maybe I’m wrong and I can’t create a user anymore without AD or this is not possible in Kopano ONE?

      Thank you for your help,

      hispeed

        Hi @hispeed,

the ldap backend is indeed the recommended backend for Kopano One, but it does not need to be ActiveDirectory.

Knowing that ldap is hard for most people we recently started a very simple go based project that provides the necessary ldap interface for Kopano. It can even be used as a drop in replacement (for Kopano relevant cases anyways). Its still in an early stage and therefore does not have more explicit documentation, but you can find the getting started information in https://stash.kopano.io/projects/KGOL/repos/kidm/browse. Its provided as a package alongside the nightly builds and in the Kopano One repository.

        Regards Felix

I’m back with Debian Buster and now I’m here: 6a. Install LDAP and create users for Kopano ONE <- but this I don’t have to do it because I will use kidm.

Now I’m not sure how I have to install it.

Just copy everything from (https://stash.kopano.io/projects/KGOL/repos/kidm/browse) into /etc/kopano/kidm ?
For starting kidm do I need some other dependencies?

All steps will be written down be me and later published as soon as I have working configuration :D.

            Hi @hispeed,

I have more linked the repository because of the descriptions in the readme. The application itself is already compiled and can just be installed from the Kopano One packages repository.

A more detailed guide for kidm can be found at https://gist.github.com/longsleep/cad951eaec45f1dd604d9a2a48ccdbde

Thank you for your help. Goal is to get it working on the test enviroment by the end of this week :) or I will call you next week ;).

              Ok Kidm is running.

is the FQDN: https://SVGWMA-DEBI-01 <- This is what i defined at the installation? This is all for testing. Or do I need to add also the domain so: https://SVGWMA-DEBI-01.MYDOMAINNAME.DE ?

Now I have a already a Kopano running and I need to restore this database. How do I need to create the users for the existing users in the database?
