      Hi,

      I have running Kopano V.10 at the moment from february 2020. Now it’s time to move on and install Kopano ONE.
      I installed Kopano ONE and now I’m at the TLS step and after that the Database must be created and the access granted.

      How do I restore now the my old database and do I need to update the database before restore?

      @fbartels
      It will be published in German on my website and then I translate everything into english and publish here on the forum.

      Thanks for any help

        Hi @hispeed,

        the procedure is not much different than with other installations. I would recommend to at first finish up the installation, do some testing. And when you’re happy stop all processes and drop the database and /var/lib/kopano/attachments (and optionally also the folder for search) and then import the old database and attachments.

        The important thing when downgrading between versions (which is the case when going from a kc 10 to Kopano One) is that the database revision of the new system is equal or lower than the one of the old system. If that is the case entries with a higher version number can just be removed from the versions table in the database.

        Regards Felix

          So far I understand that and it shouldn’t be to hard.

          Import the database means just restore it or is it a special process?

          I thought I understood Kopano ONE but at moment I don’t get it again. Yes I have Kopano Core 10.0.1 at the moment with Community Edition. Is Kopano ONE not based on the same Core? You said I make a downgrade so Kopano ONE is at the moment based on Kopano Core 9.X?

            just a restore with the mysql cli (assuming you used mysqlbackup to create the dump).

            It is based on the same software, just uses a different version. The nightly downloads come from the main development branch, whereas proper releases come from their individual releases branches. For Kopano One we decided to use a build from the 9.x branch, which technically is a downgrade.
