.eml files in /var/lib/kopano
-
I detected that our kopano server has more and more less diskspace at some point, until i detected that around 4.3 gb .eml files reside under /var/lib/kopano . All files look like:
-rw------- 1 kopano kopano 3570 Jun 24 16:22 LMTP_20210624142233_564beb22.eml
They go back until August 2019 and no user has currently told is that their are missing mails or something. Which config settings (or another error?) coul’d produce this? Can i delete them without worry?

Hi @beleggrodion,
that sounds like you have enabled the following feature in
dagent.cfg
:# Log raw message to a file. Can be "no", "all", or a list of usernames # for which messages should be saved. #log_raw_message = no #log_raw_message_path = /var/lib/kopano
-
Thanks for your answer.
The config block, which you posted, is the same on my config file. So the option shoul’d be disabled, because the part was commented out as in your sample. I now expicit set to log_raw_message = no.

@beleggrodion
We see also many *.eml files on some customer systems but dagent config is untouched as shown above. So I assume this is a bug in current released Kopano version. Now we explicitly set:log_raw_message = no

It works as expected here (no raw messages are saved by default) with 8.7.22.0-0+debian10~161.1.

@fbartels
my customers and my system are on 8.7.20 and we see many .eml files. Some of this files are 2 years old. In release notes I di’d not find as solved issue for this. -
I did not mean to imply that there was a change regarding this in 8.7.22, I simply stated that I am not able to reproduce this behaviour in 8.7.22.
If you have steps to reproduce this issue I would recommend to get in touch with the Kopano support. Even if you don’t, looking at your configuration and the kind of mails that are stored could also give an indication on why these are stored.

Hi folks
in my installation i found the same elm files in the same path.
The content of the files is ever still the same. They consist of calender-invitations with weekly, monthy or what ever rhythem. They have no end-date for the serie. Maybe this is helpfull for further investigation.Greatings ZARA-KOPA

@zara-kopa said in .eml files in /var/lib/kopano:
They consist of calender-invitations
Yes, for calendar invitations this is indeed expected. Whenever the part that auto responds/processes these encounters an issue, the file is stored so that the issue at hand with the appointment can be easier reproduced and fixed.
