      Dear All,

Recently, I did switch from Exchange to Kopano (debian buster packages), after having run my secondary mail server that way for a year with good experiences. In front or my mailserver, I use a ciphermail gateway to sign, endrypt and dercrypt mails with S/MIME.

I fond that some new and some imported mail appars blank in WebApp, DeskApp an on Android now.

      With Exchchange,the behavior was:

      • decrypted message was fully visible in outlook - one could work with it just as expected
      • on Android (LineageOS, standard mail client), the decrypted message was marked as encrypted and not presentable despite the fact that it was in fact decrypted.
I found that annoying, but I could stand that. If needed, I did use OWA.

      With Kopano, the behavior is:

      • decrypted message is shown blank in Kopano client. When downloading in .eml format, it
can be viewed (with Outlook, for example)
      • on Android, the decrypted message is also shown blank. Just an smime.p7m enclosure is
        visible.

Chiphermail thinks that this is due to opaque S/MIME signing (https://lists.ciphermail.com/hyperkitty/list/users@lists.ciphermail.com/thread/TPOJVDL67FF3QHBGEAMKRF3NAQF3GPFB/).

Is this a known issue from the point of view of Kopano and is there a way to cure that? There is a workaround (with some downsides) for new messages coming in. However, a gap does remain for messages improted into Kopano. In my case, hundreds of these messaes have been signed/encrypted in a way that makes them look blank unless finding a workaround for the existing base of messages.

      Regards,

      Michael
