Import PST Files

Hello, I’m looking into importing PST files and found I need to use kopano-migration-pst.

Only problem, we use Univention and there is no kopano-migration-pst command? (Command not found). Further investigation lets me believe there are no migration tools installed for Kopano in Univention. How can we get kopano-migration-pst to work on univention please?

Kind Regards,
S.

Hello @sreek ,

this specific utility is not installed by default, but you can easily install it by calling univention-install kopano-migration-pst from the commandline

Hello,

Thank you for your fast reply. We have tried this but get an error below (in dutch)

Kind regards,
Steven

Hi @sreek ,

it seems you are still on a version of Univention/Kopano where this tool is not included (it was introduced with Kopano 8.2).

I have updated to the latest versions and now the import seems to work.

Only there is a new problem, the Kopano service won’t start after a reboot and needs to be manually started.

service kopano-server start

Then everything is ok (as far as we have tested by now)

Any idea why the service won’t start up after the updates?

@sreek which versions of Kopano and Univention are you using now and have been using before?

I’ve read reports about Kopano not starting after reboot after upgrading to UCS 4.2 from some users on the Univention forum, but one the hand I was never able to reproduce with the information provided.

Hi all,

I have the same problem with kopano core 8.2. All mails in the folder “Posteingang”, which I importet from a PST Filer with kopano-migration-pst where displayed as not sent yet.

Is there any solution to solve this problem?

@kios_gmbh i dont really see how you describe the same problem as above… but it seems you already found a more appropriate place at https://forum.kopano.io/topic/281/pst-file-import
