How To Download and Install

How to download the kopano packages build for Fedora. In the forum.kopano.io i am able to see only nightly builds where can i find stable version.
-
Hi @ramalingam,
stable builds are only available to Kopano customers with a paid subscription.
You can find an overview of supported distributions at https://documentation.kopano.io/kopanocore_administrator_manual/installing.html#supported-platforms (Fedora is not among them).

@fbartels
Hi is there any community edition available from kopano
? -
@ramalingam no, only nightly development builds are publicly available. But all the sources are publicly available as well so you could also compile your own packages based on what we release to our customers.

@fbartels
Hi Thank you i saw kopano rpm for fedora 26 can i use it. Will update will be available. Can i use in server. Will rpms comes in future for fedora above 26 -
Hi @ramalingam,
I am not quite sure where you have seen packages for Fedora 26 (there are however archives for Rawhide and 30 in https://download.kopano.io/community/core%3A/). But these are there just because of internal tests and are not actively maintained or tested by us.
Like I said before I would recommend to check the supported distributions and then choose one of them to base your installation on.

@fbartels lovely to see the nightly builds are avail for free. Is there a limitation of how many users I can use on the free version?
I’ll be preparing my VM for upgrade to Ubuntu 20.04 in next few weeks.
Is that best distro to use? I am on paid license, on stable version.
Best regards,
Marc

The nightly development builds come without any feature limitation, but also without any guarantees or support. Not even the guarantee that these builds will always be available.

Generally speaking I would always recommend to use Debian or Ubuntu. Which one does not matter too much (but Ubuntu obviously has longer support cycles). We recently added Ubuntu 20.04 packages to Kopano One as well.
-
@junglemarc I’ll always listen to your wisdom. 20.04 it is.
Thank you :)
-
@fbartels I am testing Ubuntu 20.04, is there a apt source file for it? In portal, I only see kopano.list file generator up to 18.04.
I wonder if I install on 20.04 using packages manually, that I’ll have to always update new updates by hand, every time.

@junglemarc like I have written before I would suggest you to use Kopano One. You can find instructions for Kopano One and Ubuntu 20.04 at https://kb.kopano.io/display/WIKI/Kopano+One+on+Ubuntu+20.04+-+quick+installation+instructions.
The repo configuration that you can download in the portal is for the individual products, but for new installation we recommend to use Kopano One. If you still want to use the individual repositories you can still configure them manually. Instructions for that can be found at https://kb.kopano.io/display/WIKI/Configure+repositories and https://documentation.kopano.io/kopanocore_administrator_manual/installing.html#installing-kopano-core-through-the-kopano-package-repositories
Nevertheless I notified our internal it that this wizard seems to miss the ability to select Ubuntu 20.04.
