Export users entire calendar to ical or any text based file

I need to export a users entire calendar to a file. I have searched and searched and been unable to find a way to do this. I can do this via command line or from the users interface, it does not matter. If someone could point me in the right direction, I would appreciate it.

have you tried to call the ical address with your browser?
