      Hello forum,

i’ve got a running meet installation in the newest version (2.2.3-0+356.1) on debian 10. This installation works fine and i got just a single problem.

we have a conference-room with an Konftel50 Solution (Kamera + Roommic + speaker on a konftel usb3-hub (which works like a kvm-switch) and one usb3 cable to the Laptop/pc ).

The mic and the speaker are working fine with meet, but if i try to access the camera, it tells me it cannot connect.
the camera allow dialog was clicked with allow and in the firefox debug log there is an error message:

failed to access camera and/or microhone Error: "getUserMedia failed: NotReadableError: Failed to allocate videosource"
          g media.js:461

The Camera and mic works fine with meet in Deskapp but fails with Firefox.

did someone encounter a similar problem?

      best regards,
      coffee_is_life

@Coffee_is_life said in Meet with Konftel50:

failed to access camera and/or microhone Error: “getUserMedia failed: NotReadableError: Failed to allocate videosource”
        g media.js:461

This error mostly means that the camera is in use by another application.

but its not. thats the problem.

if i start deskapp right after FF failed and navigate to meet, i can use than cam without Problems.
if i switch back again (deskapp is closed then) - FF fails again with the same error.

if the cam was really used by another app, then surely deskapp should fail with the same error.

Well then, if Firefox cannot use the cam, it sounds more like an Firefox issue. I guess it works just fine in Chrome as well? You can check with the getUserMedia tests on https://simpl.info/ if those work (and which) to help identifying the particular issue.

I checked this, chrome is working fine with meet and simpl.infi

ff is still struggling and i cant figure out why. The internal cam works as expected (both, in meet and simpl.info).
i will do further research and report back if i get it to work.
in the meantime, if someone had a similar issue and got some more hints, i appreciate it.

              best regards,
