      Hi all,

if Bob grants read-access to his calendar for Alice and Alice opens Bobs calendar she will see all calendar appointments and the content of each appointment.

Is it possible to restrict the privilege so Alice can only see if a certain time slot if free or busy without being able to see the subject, place, meeting attendees, and so on… ?

simply said --> I need something like the scenario mentioned HERE. This fallback mechanism is what I want to achieve obviously but it should work for Kopano DeskApp users, too. Actually as understood and like tested myself this works only for Outlook users.

        Any clues ?

@micro if you go into the planning view of an appointment you will only see general availability of your participants. To show just the availability status in the calendar is not possible with the current Kopano architecture.

            Hi Felix,

well this “general availabilty” view would be good, as explained in the manual and as tested by myself with Outlook. But I will need that in Kopano DeskApp, how can I get it there? Kopano DeskApp fails already at the step when Alice tries to open the shared calendar because she has no read right to open the calendar of Bob. She will get an error message. Is there any other way for Alice?

@micro yes, as said before from the planning view of an appointment.

                Hi Felix,

after explaining this step to some of our employees I received meanwhile following complaint:

if you use the scroll bar on the bottom to see future dates you cannot scroll further 01.Octobre 2019.(tested now today is 04th July 2019). But they want to plan appointments in Novembre or Decembre.

How can we overcome this ?

you can setup in the webapp settings for how long of a period of time you want to generate free busy data (when the calendar of the user is updated)

I have tried this. Default setting was 2 months. I changed to 6 months, saved and restarted. But the scroll bar still get only to the point 1st Octobre and not further. Even when both users have configured 6 months.

@micro ah yes indeed. there is also a setting in the config.php to influence on what to actually show to the user https://stash.kopano.io/projects/KW/repos/kopano-webapp/browse/config.php.dist#138-142

Thanks for pointing out. Is there also a setting to change the generation of free busy data (default 2 months) to another value, so it will get active for all users?

You can use webapp_admin for that

Thank you, but I don’t want to use this because it’s a real production environment and as the link says:

This tool is under contruction. Use caution on a live server. Always make a backup of the user settings and test first before modifing

I will not risk to mess anything up.

Then it’s not possible to change that setting for all users.
