kopano-server: unrecognized service

Hi All

Fresh install of 8.5 but when i come to stop or start the service i get kopano-server: unrecognized service.

All deb files installed without issue aswell

you have to be a bit more detailed I’m afraid. Which os are you using? Which exact version of Kopano is installed? What is the exact command you are trying to execute?

Sorry, submitted then ran out on a job

Ubuntu 14
Kopana core-8.5.80.140_0%2B196-Ubuntu_14.04-amd64.tar.gz

unpacked and installed fine without issue well after i installed the missing parts with apt install -f

command im using is

service kopano-server stop
service kopano-server start
service kopano-server status
service kopano-server restart

all give the error that the service doesnt exist and if i look in the service list there isnt one listed either

Hi @cpeb ,

if you depend on timely answers it probably better to get a subscription to open support calls and in case of emergency have someone to call…

In your case the forum search would also have provided an answer to your specific problem: https://forum.kopano.io/post/4715

So you either need to copy the old init scripts from the git checkout, or simply use ubuntu 16.04.
