New version of the DeskApp?
-
When is a new version of the DeskApp coming? As far as I know, the DeskApp uses the Chromium engine. There are regular security updates for Chromium. So that these security updates also arrive in the DeskApp, there would have to be an update (with new Chromium) for the DeskApp.

@boospy said in New version of the DeskApp?:

I didn’t get the context to my question yet. Is the release cycle of Kopano Deskapp linked to the LTS versions of Ubuntu?
Thanks and greets

When will there be a working DeskApp version for Ubuntu 22.04 LTS Jammy Jellyfish? I still cannot find any download for it :(

Do you have tested the 20.04 Version? Normally, not so much should have changed.
-
@boospy of course I have tested it. Although it was installed it doesn’t work as expected and causes errors and issues. System performance was downgraded dramatically and I had no clue for that reason. Until I found that Kopanos’ Deskapp exe process shown in “top” used dozens of process and one of them always occupying 100% CPU. Even the fan of my computer went crazy. Also there are some small bugs I detected related to click actions on buttons.
This version is not usable on Ubuntu 22.04. Hence the question for a suitable version for Ubuntu 22.04.

@micro Thank you for your feedback.

same problem with the “exe” process in Ubuntu 21.04, 21.10 and 22.04 on my side.
For users not knowing how to kill those processes and identifing the problem themself, not me :), the DeskApp is not recommended in any way.
