Hello,
I’m trying to get a GAL search working with iOS devices.
My mail backend is IMAP (Dovecot), which works fine for years now. But I can’t get GAL working.
I do see “Global addressbook” within the iOS contacts app, but I cannot activate it for a search.
Z-Push version: 2.6.2
Any idea what’s going wrong?

Update: I had an old config file. Now I can search and I even get results, but without any mail addresses.
The field doesn’t get mapped.

Next update: It works if I set SYNC_GAL_EMAILADDRESS to ‘mail’, but I need it set to ‘mailLocalAddress’.

Did you enable GAL via SEARCH_PROVIDER in the main config.php?
This will limit search to contacts only, serverside mail search will not work properly anymore.I’m using the combined backend with CardDAV and added some lines there to include the SearchLDAP backend, but it is a hack I’m not happy with…
Are you interested in using both? Maybe I can work out a proper solution to this.
