Private appointment for multiple participants in a public calendar?
Hello,
we have configured an inactive account for a meeting room and gave “Everyone” access to the calendar, so every employee can book the room.
Sometimes there a meetings, where only the invited group of employees should see the topic - all other should only see, that the room is booked.
I tried to define the appointment as “private”, but then the invited employees do not see the topic either.
Is there a chance to solve this requirement?
Thnaks for any hints or suggestions,
Stefan

Hi @smguenther,
indeed marking something as “private” usually means that everything but the organiser will not see the actual topic.
Maybe I am misunderstanding your flow, but shouldn’t the following work?
- you invite to an appointment from your calendar and mark it as private
- invitees will see the private flag, but since its in their calendar they will see the information
But on second thought since the room is an invitee as well, it could/would still be readable to users with reading permissions?

Hello @fbartels ,
thank your for your answer and your suggestion.
These are the not really satisfying result of two further tests:Test A:
Created a private appointment in my calendar an invited thee employee and the meeting room.
Result: The appointment is visible for the invited employee. The appointment does not appear in the rooms calendar althought the settings are:Auto-accept meeting req:yes
Decline dbl meetingreq: yes
Decline recur meet.req: yesTest B:
Created a private appointment in the meeting rooms calendar and invited the employee and me.
Result: The appointment is visible for me, for the employee and marked as private in the meeting’s room calendar for everyone (closer, but no ideal)Thanks for your help,
Stefan
