Webapp unable to delete a contact's email address
-
If I delete an email address from a contact in webapp, then save the changes, the deleted address is there again when I look at the contact. For example, I have a friend with email1 (home) and email2 (work) who has now retired so I need to delete email2 but every time I do this it is there again as soon as I save. I can successfully edit it to a different address but once an address has been set it seems impossible to remove.
Does anyone have any idea what is going on?
WebApp 3.5.4
Kopano Core 10.0.6
openSUSE 15.2Thanks

@externa1 Interesting thanks. The version I have is the latest in the openSUSE repositories (Leap 15.2 or Tumbleweed). I wonder why they are so far behind (I don’t expect you to know that)? I may try a later nightly build to see if it solves my problem.

@hodgepig That is the problem with kopano in the repositories of the distribution. They are never updated, usually not even with security fixes. There was an announcement some time ago where Kopano said we should now install it from distribution repositories unless we are a paying customer, but I don’t think there is a single distribution that actually carries and updates their kopano packages. I guess they want to keep the community as small as possible, and therefor limit “free” users to the nightly build archive…
As far as I can tell ubuntu comes with a 3 year old kopano version. At least the file date of the .deb is 2018-03-23. So I guess if Suse comes with a 2 year old version, that is really amazing.

@gerald if there has been a discussions about the distribution repositories, I’m sure they have been primarily about not mixing the distro packages with ours, because it will break in strange ways.
Community packages are certainly still available for download from here: https://download.kopano.io/community/webapp%3A/ (in this case WebApp). Packages there are from last night…

@bhuisman openSUSE’s build service is usually really good at having the latest (within reason) versions of packages but with kopano it seems very hit and miss. I’ve been using kopano/zarafa for many years now and for a lot of that time I’ve needed to use the nightlies from kopano/zarafa but for almost the same amount of time the versions built and distributed via openSUSE have been pretty recent so I’ve used their repository.
I’d much rather just subscribe to a repository and allow updates to just be available each time I update my server rather than have to keep downloading nightlies and installing them by hand, hence my preference for using the openSUSE packages. I guess it’s reached the point where I need to go back to the nightlies direct from kopano.
Thanks for you comments.
