- What else am I missing with multi tenant?
- How can I allow users to log in via email addresses during multi tenant?

Hi @stephen,
how are you managing your users in general? Switching between multi tenant/hosted setup would remove existing users so if you just get the details of a user afterwards an error would be expected.
What is the output of
kopano-cli --list-users
orkopano-admin -l
?PS: kopano-cli has recently been removed from the nightly builds so it seems you are on an older build.

Hi @fbartels
I’m still staging this server, so I have no users yet, if I lose my users in staging, I’ll just delay the move of actual data onto this system.
I plan to run multi tenant from day 1, but with what you’ve suggested, I’ll delete my users, then to multi tenant, then create users and try again.
Also, the builds I’m using are part of the stock repos from Ubuntu 20.04, so I imagine they aren’t as fresh. I was having trouble understanding how to make the individual installers work, as there was a lot of config that didn’t seem to get put in place unless I used the stock repos.
If there is a better approach you’d recommend, I’m happy to try it
Thanks

You will loose your users (if you created them with the db plugin, with the ldap plugin they will be recreated and most likely stores will auto reattach, at least that was the case the last time I played with it), but not the data. as stores and users are separate entities in Kopano.

My general recommendation (especially since you want to host other users data when talking about multi tenancy) is to get a trial key and use our supported packages for your test and of course the production installation after buying a subscription. With access to our supported packages you can simply configure our package repositories and install and update from there.

Thanks, I’ll give this a shot.

I don’t plan to use this instance to run a commercial organisation, just a few accounts for personal purposes, so with that in mind, maybe multi tenant isn’t my goal. I’m still learning about the differences in terminology.
I’d like to learn how to install and run a basic Kopano instance without the need to call upon support so early on in the piece. I was able to do this with Zimbra, so I would assume that its equally possible with Kopano. This is what it seems others have been able to do, so I’m hoping this is within my ability also.

I am not asking you to get in contact with our support. I was simply stating that my general recommendation would be to use our actual releases over the nightly downloads.
