Password for public channels / insecure without?

Hi folks,
is there any possibility to set a password even for public channels? I think its a security issue if the URL is guessable. On the one handside we need the public channel to invite guests / on the other handside it is insecure in my opinion.

If there is no possibility yet, is this something the devs have on the roadmap?

Hi @mcdaniels,

right now there is no possibility to protect public rooms with a secret of some kind, other than to make the roomname random enough to prevent others from guessing it.

“Locked” rooms are already in the api design however and will eventually come.
