Do generic Mailboxes count as "licensed user"?
-
We have an active 20 user subscription and changed postfix->kopano delivery from dagent-calling to lmtp since we indroduces a new domain with same user prefixes and I had no clue how to configure this correctly with dagent-calling.
Since that we´re not able anymore to deliver to subfolders directly and are now in need to create some generic mailboxes like “spam@xxx.com” and “archiv@xxx.com” etc.
This will consume nearly all our licenses. So: do generic mailboxes count as “users”?As stated here https://forum.kopano.io/topic/2636/debian-9-step-by-step/15
and https://forum.kopano.io/topic/1130/migration-zcp-to-kopano-parallel-installation-possible-trial-subscription-needed/4 kopano CURRENTLY does not check the number of consumed mailboxes… but zarafa in the past did as we reached a limit in the past - and I just want do be sure that this stays as it is OFFICIALY or there might be a solution… ?! -

So: do generic mailboxes count as “users”?
There are two types of users relevant for subscriptions. Active user and non-active/inactive users. Subscriptions are bought based on active users and come with (if I remember correctly) 2* the amount of inactive users. So as long as these “generic” mailboxes are created as inactive users you should be fine.

Thank you… but to clarify that. What means “inactive user”?
Is that an option in kopano-admin/cli that I have to set for the account? -

Yes, assuming you are using the db backend. Its explained at https://documentation.kopano.io/kopanocore_administrator_manual/user_management.html#non-active-users
