Outlook 365 / z-push - Outlook shuts down without warning
-
Hello
I have an issue since last night that I cannot get a handle on. I am using z-push 2.5.1 on my server for quite some time now and had no issues connecting with Outlook 365 to it. Last night I realized that as soon as I open Outlook the connection to my server is established, and the sync starts. I can see my emails but as soon as I want to open one, Outlook shuts down without any warning. The behavior is weird and I really can’t explain what happens. The reason, so I assume, has to do with z-push. That assumption is based on my observation, that if I delete my activesync account from Outlook, the program opens perfectly fine and I can access emails in a PST. The only way how I can use Outlook again is to remove my activesync account and use a PST file only. If I add the activesync account again Outlook downloads all my emails but then as I start to open an email Outlook shuts down again without a warning and I cannot use it again until I repeat the above.
Did anyone experience something similar? I have not done a WBXML extract yet but two of the warnings I get on a regular basis are/usr/share/z-push/backend/caldav/caldav.php:830 A non-numeric value encountered (2)
and
SyncObject->Check(): object from type SyncMail: parameter 'from' contains an invalid email address 'USER'. Address is removed.
This is nothing new and should not cause the issue.
One thing I should mention. I do not have a certificate for my server from a certificate authority. I use a self signed certificate which was not an issue so far.
I am thankful for any help I can get so please please advise if you have any idea how I can fix that issue.
Thanks so much.

Hi @Realshadow,
are there any Outlook or MS Office related errors in the windows event log?
Are you using the combined backend with imap, caldav and carddav backends?
I don’t think the self-signed certificate is an issue. Unless there was some Outlook or Windows update which changed that.

Hi Manfred.
Thanks for your response. Yes I am using Combined Backend. All three are configured and work fine. Yes there is an error in the event log.

Hi @Realshadow,
was there also some description?
IMO you’re more likely to receive better answers in an Outlook/MS forum, I’m not an Outlook expert.
