DeskApp hangs on login with incorrect password

Hi,

DeskApp do not show an error message as WebApp do when using an incorrect password. The blue wheel spins forever.

kopano-deskapp-2.2.0-x64.msi
webapp-3.5.5.2276+93-SLE_12-noarch.tar.gz
core-8.6.9.0_0+24-SLE_12-x86_64.tar.gz

DeskApp installed on Windows 10 x64 german.
Also reproducible on Debian 9 with current packages.

Any ideas how to solve this issue? My customers are not happy with this bug.

Hi @WalterHof ,

Could you open the console and type global.DA.webAppWindow.show()
and tell me what you see in the main WebApp window?

If you see decryption errors open the settings go to profile settings and re-enter password as a workaround so DeskApp does the profile validation again.

I see the WebApp login screen, but Benutzername is incorrect, I see the mail address from from first profile, not the user name I expect - no error message. When I click Anmelden, I get a login error as I expect.
For testing a added profile #8 with my user name but an incorrect password.

@WalterHof How did you create this profile? DeskApp does a validation. Profile can’t be saved with an invalid username/password.

I launched DeskApp, click on “Neues Profil”, enter a Profilname, a Benutzername, a incorrect password, the WebApp Adresse and click Speichern & schließen, after some seconds profil is saved and we are back in login screen.

But to make it clear, my customer changed his password in AD, launched DeskApp with old password stored in DeskApp profile and the wheel spins forever. So we need an fix for this issue!

I created a profile with an incorrect password to duplicate this issue. Maybe I found an additional bug to.

Check if you see: libgsoap-kopano in you installed package list.
if you see mulple remove the oldest version.

I had a simular problem, after remove the oldest libgsoap-kopano version it worked again.
Dont forget to restart kopana and apache.

yes two versions installed.

rpm -qa | grep libgsoap-kopano

libgsoap-kopano-2_8_71-2.8.71-1.1.x86_64
libgsoap-kopano-2_8_62-2.8.62-2.1.x86_64

I removed the older version and restarted Apache and Kopano. Unfortunately this did not help.

I found the cause and made a fix.
I’ll will update the repositories when the builds are ready that will be this evening or tomorrow.

DeskApp 2.2.3 fixes both issues. When will DeskApp 2.2.3 official released?
I do not want to install beta versions at customer sites.
