there has been to formal EOL date set for the 8.7 branch, but as soon as we will release the next version (9.x) 8.7 will only receive minimal attention from us. But any dates communicated will only be related to our packaging and releases anyway.

The packages that are included in Debian Buster are already several releases behind. You’d have to talk to their maintainer if you have questions about them specifically.

I did not check in personally, but they should be available.

@Finji you have to install an mta yourself. our general recommendation is to use postfix, but as long as it can receive mails via smtp from kopano-spooler and deliver mails via lmtp (preferred) or pipe to kopano-dagent.

Yes Debian 10 is very important.

Thank you for the link to Matthew Ogilvie’s page. Not sure how I missed that one! I will have a go at patching fetchmail.
His guide covers Postfix SMTP also. The google blog post seems to infer SMTP will not require OAUTH. Though I can use my ISP relay if need be.

I understand the problem is not unique to Kopano but thought I’d ask since some other users here may have a similar setup/mail stack.

By the way: I found core-10.0.1.130.fddcb4c-RHEL_7_PHP_70-x86_64.tar.gz . Is this Kopano for PHP7 on CentOS 7? If so, I suppose I can use that one instead of compiling?

the easiest is surely to use either Debian or Ubuntu as the base (which one ultimately does not matter) and get a trial key from kopano.com to access the Kopano package repositories with.

If you are already familiar with container technology then spinning up an environment based https://github.com/zokradonh/kopano-docker is a thing of a few minutes as well.

OK, this is working so far.

Unfortunately, you have to create a new calendar entry just to see if the specific person is available or not. Furthermore you have to search for this person. All in all this means a considerable additional effort.

The implementation of a free/busy share for future versions would be great.

I think I’m going to put this request to the wishlist :)

Yes, I would recommend the same. Specifically you should look to use https://stash.kopano.io/projects/KC/repos/kopanocore/browse?at=refs%2Fheads%2Fkc-9.x. This has not yet been released to customers but is currently in the process of being stabilised and hopefully released soon.

This sounds interesting.

I would like to try it on my SBC’s but this is going to take time. And I cannot do it all alone might need some help from the community.

Will look into the package first as I am new to Kopano and I can package it for Manjaro Linux as I am used to packaging apps for it.
